PRELIM - RESEARCH RATIONALE

The research that I will be doing for my fashion magazine will be helpful for me to create and design my magazine because it will help me know more about marketing and my audience. I am currently a student in Norbury Manor with students from the ages of 11-16  and sixth form students from the ages of 16-18 and this will enable me to have access to a wide range of different target audiences that will have different opinions about a fashion magazine. This research will help me gather information in what they look for in a fashion magazine and what influences them to buy one.

For the research I am making into my fashion magazine, I will be doing a survey and also try to interview students from different age groups. I will put together different questions such as quantitative and qualitative that are related to fashion and magazines and this will help me understand what different people have opinions about Fashion magazines. The quantitative research that I will be carrying out is how many students read magazines and how many of them are interested in this type of magazine. The qualitative research that I will be carrying out will include how people react to different fashion magazine genres and what opinions they have on each of them just to have a better understanding about their opinions.The question that i may ask will be related to the type of fashion and what makes a fashion magazine stand out to them. This will help me with my general research as I would be able to gather a good amount of feedback which will help me to create my magazine. 

To produce my research, I will interview a small group of people from different ages asking them a variety of questions such as what is their favourite fashion magazine or what makes a fashion magazine stand out to them. When collecting the information I would either have to film it and have their consent, if they do not give consent I will have to type it up to prove that I have interviewed them. Another way that I can produce my research is that I can create a survey online on social medias such as Instagram polls which will be a quicker way of me receiving information. 

Once all my research has been collected I will have a better insight on what to do and I will be to design my magazine better with the opinions of students that this magazine is aimed at.
