The Media Theoretical Framework
There are 5 areas of the media theoretical framework and they are:
Media Language
Media language is the way in which text is made to connote a meaning for the audience. For example, if you're dressed in a certain colour like white it will connote that you are pure and clean and innocent. However, if you are wearing black it would connote a negative background.
Media Representation
Media representation is shown in a stereotypical way. For example, in most movies and television programmes the mean girls are always blonde and not smart. It can also be related to religion, ethnicity, sexuality and gender.
Media Industries
The way the media may be promoted or distributed but also it's position in media.
Media Audience
The way the media forms a target and the way audience is approached. Its the way the audience thinks of the text and the way they respond to it.
Media Context
This is the basic background information on a piece of media. For example, social, historical or economic.
